This is a major look

I’m in love – with everything that happened between 12 AM and 4 AM today. I had been looking forward to Motor City Drum Ensemble’s gig for two months, and more often than not when I look forward to something I only get truly disappointed. But last night was hands down an exception to the rule. It was possibly one of the best nights in my life as yet; a night that will live forever in my memories; so unreal. Perhaps because I was really sick and only expected the worst. Motor City Drum Ensemble was just crazy. The energy in the basement, where he dropped the best tunes ever nonstop, was just mind-boggling. I haven’t had so much fun in a long time. I couldn’t stop dancing or smiling or asking questions I’ve never asked anyone before. I was introduced to MCDE’s friend and perhaps I’m still drunk from last night but we were soulmates for the evening. “You’re the opposite of everything”. He said that we’d probably never see each other again. I didn’t give him my full name or any contact details, just my initials. I don’t believe in fate but maybe we’re destined to bump into each other in LA at some point. Otherwise, it remains a blissful memory. And when I woke up this morning I decided that I would spend the rest of the day tracking down all the tunes from the best hours ever and reminisce about the gig with my best friends. Check out MCDE’s sublime Boiler Room mix. If I had to choose one song to describe last night, I’d choose Love by Cooly G.

tenuously said: How about the best pho in Paris? Any tips? :- )

At my aunt’s.. haha. Hmm. Pho 14 is not that bad but you can really taste the MSG. I know that my relatives in Paris frequent Pho Mui, but I didn’t really like that place. I thought the broth had a strange taste.

Anonymous said: Hey! Do you know any good places in Oslo to eat pho (if there are any)? :)

Mamma Trans Kjøkken is the only place in town that makes somewhat legit pho. Hai Cafe, Lille Saigon 1, Da Lat cafe etc make pho packed with MSG, so stay away from those places.. and also because the pho really suck (seafood in your pho? Blasphemy!)

Anonymous said: Can you give an example of some good blog layouts?

Hmm. Good question. I don’t really read any blogs these days but I tried looking for a few examples to show you. Some of them are just plain and readable, others are more on the eye-catching side… (the font size is, in my opinion, too small, though)

If you haven’t already, check out Pandreas – a young jurist and house producer from Bergen. I like brainiacs who make excellent beats. Bergen just happens to be a town that is jam-packed with academics who are making a name for themselves as musicians/producers, and I find that supremely awe-inspiring and inspirational. There’s no wonder that I’m deliberating on whether I should go to medical school in Bergen or not. In my opinion, Bergen is by far a city that outshines Oslo in terms of music.
